Divorce certificate translation services in Dubai

Administrative work at a difficult time

Understanding legal and administrative procedures during challenging times can be extremely difficult. Using a professional translation company removes some of that, and makes sure the document you submit is accurate. AGATO has served the translation industry in Dubai for more than two decades and is known for the quality of its document translation. Our translators will assist with the necessary documentation during what is usually a critical period.

Why accuracy matters on this document

A divorce certificate is an official document issued by the court, and it is the legal evidence that a couple has separated. Accurate, reliable translation matters for every vital document, and particularly for sensitive legal ones like divorce and death certificates, where the translated version is what an authority will act on.

If you are a foreign national, you will need the certificate translated into English or Arabic before it can be presented as evidence in official and legal settings here. Read about the types of certification to see which your destination requires.

When you need it

Where a translated divorce certificate is required

Personal, professional and legal reasons, and in each of them the document is evidence rather than paperwork.

We acknowledge the sensitive nature of these documents, and handle them accordingly.

  1. Initial discussion

We confirm the target language, the purpose and the legal considerations involved.

  2. Document evaluation

The certificate or decree is examined in full, including seals, signatures and any court annotations.

  3. Translation

An MOJ certified translator renders names, dates, terms and legal terminology exactly.

  4. Quality assurance

A second linguist checks accuracy and consistency before anything is released.

  5. Final delivery

Delivered digitally or as a stamped hard copy, whichever you need.

Sending your document

Whether you need the certificate translated from Arabic to English or from English to Arabic, drop it at our office on Sheikh Zayed Road, or for urgent needs email it or send it on WhatsApp and we will return the translation within hours.

If a name changed on marriage and changed again after the divorce, send the passport spellings for each stage. The file has to tell one consistent story to the authority reading it.

FAQ

Divorce certificate translation questions, answered

When do I need a certified translation of a divorce certificate?

Whenever your marital status has to be proved in a language other than the one the certificate was issued in. In Dubai that most often means remarriage, custody cases, property settlements, and immigration, visa or residency applications where the authority needs evidence that a previous marriage has ended.

Is a divorce certificate the same as a divorce decree?

Not always. A certificate records that the divorce took place; a decree is the court’s ruling and usually contains the terms, including custody and financial arrangements. Authorities sometimes ask for one and sometimes for both. Tell us what you have been asked for and send whichever documents you hold.

How long does it take?

A short certificate in a common language pair is typically ready in about four hours when we receive it during office hours. A full decree runs longer because it is a legal document rather than a single page, and most other language pairs are returned within 24 to 48 hours.

Who certifies it?

A translator licensed by the UAE Ministry of Justice, which is what makes the translation acceptable to courts, ministries and government departments here. For use abroad we also provide NAATI certification for Australia and NZSTI for New Zealand.

Do you need the original document?

A clear scan or photograph is enough for the translation itself. If the receiving authority requires a stamped hard copy, we produce one for collection or courier.

Will the names match my passport?

They will if you send the passport spelling with the certificate. This matters more than usual on a divorce document, because a name may have changed on marriage and changed again afterwards, and the file has to tell one consistent story.

Does it need notarisation or an apostille?

Inside the UAE, a Ministry of Justice certified translation is usually enough. If the document is going to another country, notarisation or an apostille after translation is often required. Tell us the destination and we will confirm which applies.

Which languages do you cover?

Arabic to English and English to Arabic are the most requested, with more than 120 other language pairs available. Certificates issued in almost any country can be handled.

Is my document kept confidential?

Yes, and we treat it as more sensitive than most. A divorce certificate is a private legal matter. Access is restricted, handling is secure, and the document is used only for your translation. An NDA is available on request.

Can you translate the related documents at the same time?

Yes. Divorce files usually travel with other records, and sending them together keeps names and dates consistent. We handle marriage and birth certificates, court judgments and settlement agreements through our legal translation service.
